Golf del Sur
The 1987 with a
professional tournament inaugurated place golf del Sur (27 holes) since that time
it is scene of numerous championships on highest
international level. 1989 and 1992 José Maria Olazábal won here
the respective Tenerife open, in the context of the European Volvo
route. In the following years David Gilford and Mark of James
triumphed with this event. 1995 were organized on golf del Sur the
tournament Shell Wonderful World OF golf, with which Ernie Els and
Phil Mickelson pushed one on the other.
Golf del Sur, sketched of Pepe Gancedo, offers a maintenance seed process,
which excites shelters with black volcanic sand by its attention, to its Greens
generously put on and the broad ways. Hole 13 Par 4 is particularly difficult
over 415 meters, in the northern process; the broad way is flanked right hand of
an impressive ockerfarbenen rock ravine and to linking far-laminar Roughs from
sand, and the beginning Green requires a most precise impact, in order to evade
to the shelters, which surround it. Particularly in the eye also hole stings 2,
Par 3 to 193 meters, since the spectacular and at the same time quite difficult
Green is surrounded with black sand by an enormously large shelter here.
1999 were golf del
Sur scene of two world records in the Long drive, both obtained from the
Britisher Karl Woodward, which obtained first a new record with an impact over
398 yards and some months later mark with an impact of 408 overcame the 400
yards. 2002 took place on golf del Sur again an international tournament, this
time for the ladies, with which first Tenerife Ladies open, a tournament
associated to the LPGA European Evian route, with which the Spanish Raquel
Carriedo triumphed; since many years the first open for women in Spain.
Golf del Sur counts with a special instruction zone for beginners and for
perfecting. Groups can bring along their own teachers or take the service of the
Professionals of golf del Sur under contract.
